We were on the short-list, but because we're in Stratford, and too far away for the Durham Humane Society people to travel to easily for the weekly check-ins, we didn't make the final cut. As much as we're sad that we didn't get the chance to give him a home, we're thrilled that he has a good place and people who will give him the love and care he'd been denied until now. I know there will be no miracles for Phoenix, and that makes me sad and angry, but at least he'll have some really good months to hopefully make some attempt to make up for the life he led before.
Fight the good fight, Phoenix. We're still with you in spirit.
S.Sara in Stratford ONnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6492255858171331632.post-6887521287581476212009-09-10T07:26:36.579-04:002009-09-10T07:26:36.579-04:00The Phoenix coverage was a short clip on OMNI TV n...The Phoenix coverage was a short clip on OMNI TV news a week or so ago. I had a quick look through the Cantonese news segments on their website but did not see it.

The footage was ground-level. It was a perfect sunny day, and Phoenix was checking out the lawn at Durham Humane. He looked like any well-loved pet enjoying a summer day in the backyard.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6492255858171331632.post-20999128243202339432009-09-10T03:48:12.498-04:002009-09-10T03:48:12.498-04:00I'm so glad that he will be getting a caring h...I'm so glad that he will be getting a caring home to spend the rest of his time in.Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16284259122300383731noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6492255858171331632.post-90574301224301205712009-09-09T22:05:12.024-04:002009-09-09T22:05:12.024-04:00Ahhh....thank you for warming my soul with this up...Ahhh....thank you for warming my soul with this update on Phoenix :)

-BethHouse of the Discardedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05558420754849811482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6492255858171331632.post-64837824995588396002009-09-09T21:55:57.097-04:002009-09-09T21:55:57.097-04:00I am so glad that he has somewhere for peace durin...I am so glad that he has somewhere for peace during this difficult time.Meaghan Edwardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15769656680379289189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6492255858171331632.post-44729426317381140872009-09-09T17:01:33.376-04:002009-09-09T17:01:33.376-04:00Just a quick note - foster parents don't typic...Just a quick note - foster parents don't typically HAVE to take on the financial burden of an ailing dog. They can go above and beyond and take him to their vet if the group they are fostering for don't want to spend the money on him (like my friend just recently did, spending $1800 on an ill cat who needed emergency care), but they don't have to.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6492255858171331632.post-70763943487410368832009-09-09T16:29:10.120-04:002009-09-09T16:29:10.120-04:00thank goodness he will have somewhere safe to spen...thank goodness he will have somewhere safe to spend his last days.
