Update on Winnie

Winnie's a dog that got snatched up before I even had a chance to take a photo of her.

From Winnie's new owner:

I’m sending you this picture, taken by my mother-in-law, which shows Winnie buried amidst couch cushions, sleeping off her first day at the cottage.

We’ve had her now for just over a week, and we’re smitten. She is gentle and attentive, she only barks at raccoons - How can you argue with that? - and she seems to like northern Ontario as much as we do.

We don’t know much about her past except that she was a stray who was picked up by a shelter outside Montreal. She’s a little less than a year old, probably a Rottweiler-German Shepherd cross, though that’s been the subject of much debate at the local dog park. She would have been euthanized, but TAS picked her up and brought her to Toronto.

I’m so glad they did.

That`s very cute.I think I`ve said this before but it`s really nice that people take the time to send a report and a picture and thanks Fred for posting.

Awwww, what a sweet pic! Cute pup. And I agree with Ian - there is nothing better than seeing happy updates and pictures. Those of us in rescue hear all of the sad stories and see the dogs at intake; seeing the happy endings is what makes rescue work worth it.

It's no wonder she got snapped up so quickly. So cute! What a life she now has :)

I agree with the above posters - it's so nice to read good news stories. I actively seek out updates on your blog. They help balance the anger.
