100 Huskies in Quebec rescued from neglect

Thirsty, hungry, sick at the end of a chain for who knows how many weeks or months at a time. The victims of some uncaring fuck of a sled dog tour operator.

Most are now rescued but a few were not rescued soon enough.

All photos above are from Rue Frontenac, "Sauvetage d'une centaine de chiens de traƮneau dans les Laurentides" (Rescuing 100 sled dogs in the Laurentians).

CTV has got some news videos here.

It doesn't look like large scale dog abuse is going away anytime soon in la belle province.

Ugh, I saw this on the CTV website. That's horrific -- poor pups.

There are so many good people out there who would love to take these guys in and show them a great life. It's really sad that in this day and age people still treat other living creature's like this. Here's hoping the ones that made it are shown how wonderful life can be.

Many of them were pregnant females. We have one of the puppies, now 10 weeks old. She will know what love and kindness is from humans.

we have one as well and she is loved. We also know where her mom, who was sadly in this horrible place, is now in a fabulous loving home and happily living life.

We adopted a puppy in January 2010 born to one of the pregnant females that were rescued from this horrific situation. This December she just celebrated her 2nd birthday. She has made an excellent pet and companion to our other husky and we can't imagine life without her. Many thanks to Siber Rescue of Aurora, ON and all the volunteers who made adopting out these wonderful animals possible. It breaks my heart to know that there is still a chronic problem with neglected sled dogs and dogs in general.
