Every so often a dog comes in and immediately everyone wants to take it home. This is Foxy, an all Canadian Mutt. Her history is unknown other than she was left to fend for herself in Montreal. She's a gentle soul. She bonds quickly. She gives and receives affection eagerly. She's great with other dogs, other animals too probably. Walks well on a leash.
There's something demure about her, almost cat-like. She's not shy but she doesn't take things for granted. When she wants something, like a spot under the desk or a lap to sit in, she first looks at the person, pauses, like she's asking if it's okay.

Foxy is the long-lost sister of my rescue shiba inu, Karinoe, who has the same tuxedo buttons on his chest, along with the cat-like attitude.
Hi Fred,
She seems like a sweet gal indeed. The TAS site says she's been there since August 6th but I didn't see her the last time I went in to TAS south? I hope someone sweet gives her a happy new life.
BTW, did the adoptions fees just go up?
redstarcafe, that's a good call. Foxy does kinda look like a Shiba Inu.
Rita, the date could be a typo. (Maybe Sept. 6 instead of Aug. 6?)
As for the fees going up, there have been grumblings about that for a while now but I didn't know they'd implemented it already.
Actually, Rita, now that I look at her pic again, I'm thinking she may have been sick when she first came in and so maybe she has been there since Aug. 6.
If she is about 15 - 25 pounds and has some curl in her tail, she may be part black and tan shiba inu.
Here's Karinoe, for comparison. He is from a midwest puppy mill rescue.

But then, I am no CKC judge (ducking and running...)
Fred,
Do you know if she has some curl in her tail?
I have been coming back to look at her picture and read her personality description far too many times today!
Its been a few years since I've shared my life with a dog and she sounds like the kind of dog who could get me back in...lol
Hi Rita, I don't think she's got a tail so either it's been chopped off or she's got some Australian Shepherd in her. TAS may actually be holding her back for an adopt-a-thon this weekend so if you're seriously thinking about taking her, let me know and I can get you the details.
Hey Fred, Foxy got adopted today at the Kennel Cafe =) She got adopted by a family with a super excited young girl who was already showering her with lots of affection!
Great news! Thanks for the update LauraHP.
I swear I saw Foxy this morning on my way to work. Spoke briefly with the mom of a dog that was adopted recently from TAS via the French Connection. She had a waggy, curly tail though but the rest was dead ringer for Foxy and very sweet.
redstarcafe, maybe you did see her. Foxy actually does have a tail (I thought maybe she didn't) but it's kinda short and usually held curled to her body so when she has it up, it could very well be curly.
I'm pretty sure it's her, Fred. Which delights me, because I would have loved to adopt her if we weren't overloaded here. So great if she is living just around the corner! Will ask her human what Foxy's name was before she was adopted. She could be a Manchester Terrier mix as TAS indicated, but I swear she's my rescue shiba inu's long lost sister.
Heh. There but for fortune...
