The next big thing in biological WMDs

From a recent trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake:

You know what else causes cancer? Idiocy.

Being an idiot. Breeding with an idiot. Being the parents of an idiot. Being the child of an idiot. Hanging out with an idiot. Being sneezed on by an idiot. Sitting on a toilet seat after an idiot has used it. All these things cause cancer.

This is awesome! (all this time I never realized owning dogs made me a rude, disrespectful, ignorant cancer causer!)

OMG!!! I'm howling with laughter! It's really odd that this came up, because I was walking in downtown Olde Oakville two days ago and was SCREAMED at by the owner of a Timothy's Coffee because I let my dog pee on some bushes outside of her building. The urine went into the dirt - it didn't come out on the sidewalk!

For a dog-lovin' town like Oakville, I was shocked that a business owner could be so nasty. She yelled and created quite a public ruckus while I stood there dumbfounded.

She must've been at Niagara-on-the-Lake...I'll be waiting for the sign to show up in Oakville too. *sigh*

OMG, a child might actually EAT that stuff!

H of D, that's obnoxious coming from Timothy's. I'll have to remember to never go in there.

Wow.

Okay, I don't advocate theft normally, but I don't think anyone would miss this piece of junk.

Besides, Niagara-on-the-lake's not what it used to be.

Since tetanus is caused by a bacterium found in soil, why are these geniuses gardening with their bare hands in the first place?

Fred, this might better belong in a post about BSL, but I thought you'd find it interesting (read: idiotic).

Link below to an article in this week's Economist:

As a guardian of two mongrels, I find it particularly stupid (as all BSL is)

I'll check it out, thanks, borderjack.

The comment about dog urine causing cancer is so stupid, you cannot even pull up on single thing on the net that alludes to it. Where do these people come from.....how do you survive life being that absymally stupid and ignorant? God, is there any hope for the human race and unfortunately, the majority of it is like them. Ignorant, superstitious, uninformed and with little or no desire to cure their condition. No wonder I like my dogs so much...

I have a horrible feeling this idiocy will spread to other places and other idiots.

I've heard a lot of reasons to enact public space bans on dogs before - but to ban dogs in public spaces because their pee causes cancer? What about squirrel pee? Has anybody investigated as to what their pee may be the cause of? I think that squirrel pee may be the cause of people who like to garden's hair falling out, and their knees becoming dislocated. You guys have got a lot of those black squirrels up there in Ontario don't you? I am SO glad that I don't live in Ontario!

Pit bull bans, squirrel pee causing your hair to fall out and your knees falling apart - you all need to get out of there!

OMG! I so have to go walk my dog there this weekend, seeing as I'm at the other end of the parkway (and within a reasonable driving distance!).

If you don;t mind me asking (and if you remember), where exactly was this sign?

Good Lord, I hope McSquinty doesnt see this or he`ll have to pass another stupid law.
I think he`s the Commander of the Stupid Squad, isnt he?
Gotta tell ya`, I still have tears in my eyes from reading that sign. Laughter is good for us.

K, not 100% sure but possibly one of the buildings directly off the main drag (which would be Queen?) around Regent or Victoria on the south side.

I think everyone who reads this blog should call the town office at the number on the sign. Not necessarily to "register support" as the sign requests, but to register whatever feeling this sign may bring up. Tell your friends to call too. In fact, why not post this on YouTube or somewhere and invite everyone to call with their...uh..."support."

Ha, that is the funniest thing I've read all day - cancer causing. I must say though, I get looks from some of the well-groomed homes I walk past with my dogs. Especially when my girl pees. I dare them to say something. What kind of sick world do we live in?

This piece of garbage is 50 meters from my house.I posted about it: http://nagonthelake.blogspot.com/2009/08/dog-urine-causes-cancer-not-pesticides.html
My son volunteers at the Hamilton Humane Society. He has a little Louisiana hurricane dog. You might want to join his walkathon site: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1311834235#/group.php?gid=224043995566&ref=ts
